Portal 1 Ending Rant

Hey there everyone! I have just finished the first of the two Portal games. However, I found that it didn't have as big of an impact on me as the second one did. The ending wasn't as liberating and profound as the second one. It just didn't get the point across. I feel that since they didn't really support the ending with cinematic music it took away from the ambiance of the ending. The cake wasn't presented in a way that felt like I accomplished something. You know what I mean? Well, it just didn't feel the same. However, the length of the first game surprised me. It was very short, if I didn't take breaks I could have finished the game in one sitting. That's okay I guess, I was still satisfied by the first game though. No complaints there. I felt that the blood affects were a bit much. It certainly added to the creepiness of the scenario of the "hunted down test subject" and I'm all for a bit of realism, I was just surprised by seeing it for the first time. The second one didn't use blood when Chell got shot. All in all, it was a humble beginning to the ever growing popular game Portal 2. I love it and it deserves all the awards there are. So overall in the game of Portal 1, and yes I know I'm all over the place but I just have too much to say to structure this paragraph so you are getting a sort of conversation with the real me :-), I loved what they did. However, I don't really know where the producers of a short trailer for the movie got the idea of ninjas. (?) They made it also seem like there were people in the Aperture laboratories. There were no people, the place was deserted. That's another thing about the first game. Why were there no people? Did the turrets take over the world yet or is that not until the second game? I have no idea!!!!! Well anyway, I'm super excited about these games. I wish I was Chell and a test subject. In a way its a but scary to be in her situation but I just want to feel like her and actually hold a real portal gun!!! Eeeek! I know its so cool! (super nerd here) How do you feel? Please tell me, I want to know. Tell me there are people out there who feel the same as me! I am just so in love with this game. I want to be Chell! (I wont go that far of course) But I have the aperture top and orange pants. My friend is getting the Portal gun, he is a totally cool geek like me, and I have a ton of jewelry like friendship cube earrings and turret necklaces. So this concludes a crazy post of my Portal discussion. Tune in later for my next rant on how great this game is!!!!

Samorst 1 & 2.

Samorost 1&2, a scene from the game.
Hello everybody! I have just finished Samorost 1 and 2. Samorost 1 is a lot shorter than I expected. It only has six levels. Anyway, they are totally worth playing. They are a bit weird if you don't like that kind of artwork. I liked it a lot especially because of the animation and art. I just can't get enough of it! I like how it is so unique. I am unique and out of the ordinary. I most likely will like what no one else likes. That's what sets me apart from everyone else and that's what sets this game apart from every other game out there. So give it a try if you have not yet done so and tell others about. It is a game worth playing. Don't forget to go check out the other games that they have on their web site. Have fun and be OUT OF THE ORDINARY!

Skateboarding!

Hey everyone. I have just taken up skateboarding and hope to be able to successfully street skateboard by the first day of school. I had a lesson with a professional skater who is helping me achieve my goal. It isn't easy as can be but it isn't as hard as learning another language. So far I can coast and i am currently reviewing how to turn by constantly "popping" the front of my board so that I can make sharp turns. This takes time but I am confident that i will be able to learn the basics of skateboarding by my next lesson at the near beginning of the school year. :-)

FYI  If you know that you will like skateboarding don't buy a Walmart skateboard like I did! It is terrible and actually makes learning it harder and may even discourage you because you may think that it is you. Hey, I get frustrated a lot, but when I had that lesson, and I used my teachers skateboard, it was noticeable different. So don't worry, try things out and don't get discouraged.

Neat fact:
If you push off with your left foot. Its considered a trick. (can't remember the name ) I naturally push off with my left foot. It is actually rare for a person to do that. I'm not sure why but it is. So if you do that, just know that you are unique in one more way. :-)

Samorost 1&2

Samorost 1 and 2 is made by Amanita Design
Hey everyone! I told you about Amanita Design games and two out of the 4 major ones are Samorost 1&2. I tried playing Samorost 1 and I  have to admit that it is really weird but I like that kind of thing so it may not be for everyone. However there is a problem with it. If you quit the game, it restarts all over again. I was playing it but then someone else had to do something on my computer that involved the sound. The game doesn't have a settings button to adjust anything in the game. So I quit it and it went to the beginning. Samorost 1 is one of the earlier games that Amatia Design made. So it may have a few glitches. However I did start Samorost 2 and it was going well but when I got to level 2 I couldn't solve it but I had clicked everything that was clickable! Maybe there is a specific combination of things that you need to click but it should allow you to go back and retry without having to restart.

Samorost 2 shows you which level you are on by giving you a pass code. you need to jot it down as soon as you can because the only other way to get those codes is to go on the Internet. I don't know what you will think about these games but try them out and comment on them. I would love to hear what you think about this amazing Inde game developer!

Machinarium By Amanita Design

I have just finished this amazing game called Machinarium. It is a full length point-and-click game. Its chock full of puzzles. It is hard and you need the hint book a lot but it is totally worth the time. I love the graphics and I especially love the  music. I may even buy a couple songs from the creator. :-) It may look like a depressing game, but that is what makes it so appealing. I personally love the rusted, broken look of the city and robots. It leaves a lot of mystery to the game. I would recommend this game to anyone and everyone. Also take a look at their blogs. They have two other games that I will be trying out soon as well. Also take a look at this website for the music. The music is amazing, definitely my kind of music. http://store.floex.cz/album/machinarium-soundtrack  They have many smaller games but one has been nominated for the European Games Awards 2012, Botanicula. I'm going to try this game for sure. Its just like Machinarium except the theme isn't about robots, its about plants. This game also supports wildlife foundations. For example, this game has helped save the habitats of the Tapir. An animal found in Ecuador. I highly recommend this game, and tell lots of your friends about this game and it's developers. So, check out their website and look around! :-) http://amanita-design.net/index.html
